OUCH!!

What kind of “Civilisation” do we have?! It’s surely bad enough to be stricken with ill health of any kind - but the insane cost of seeking help to lessen the pain amounts to a “Double Whammy!” of which we ought to be ashamed! I’m 82 and my wife is 76 - we can’t afford “Medical Aid” (another rip-off!). A trip to the dentist for my spouse saw her in the chair for 35 minutes (I watched the clock - there weren’t even any magazines!) during which 4 minor fillings were attended to. Those 4 fillings cost me a financial “extraction” of just under R3,000.00! For a half hour’s attention?! How on earth can this be justified?! Granted the dentist spent some years at University ( subsidised by my taxes!) learning the job - but so too do tradespeople of every stripe have to hone skills! It’s the “Double Whammy” of the Medical Fraternity fleecing people in pain! If ever there was a need for a Commission of Enquiry - I recommend this as a matter of urgency!
