Don't bother making an appointment!

Can the Medicross at Cape road let me know why they have an appointment system? I made a teleconsultation with my doctor for 10:30am and I am still waiting at 1pm for a consultation call. I called the practice at 11am and the receptionist let me know that my file is with my doctor and I understand the practice is busy with the flu outbreak BUT I made a APPOINTMENT! I am waiting frozen not being able to do anything. How fair is that?
