Consultation charged just to be referred to someone else!

Medicross Springs - I had an appointment (Been going for a long time with the same symptoms, still no solution) with Dr Potgieter, I had my dates mixed up and could not see her, but was advised that Dr de Villiers was available. In desperation to change the medication I was on, I agreed to see him. I was there for about 2 min, he said to me that he was not going to examine me or prescribe other medication, he wants me to go see a gynaecologist. He said that he would let the nurse take blood and send the results to the gynae he was referring me to. I got charged a consultation. Again, over a thousand rand for blood tests to find nothing wrong, and R1700 to see the gynae. Plus I had to go back to Dr Potgieter for a new reference letter to a different gynae as the one referred to by Dr de Villiers is known in Springs by many women as "the slaughterer". I understand there are procedures in place and you can't see the dr for free, but he didn't even bother checking me. I went to talk to Natasha the Practice Manager who handles complaints and was told that I can't expect to see the dr for free, he requested blood tests so I have to pay. When asking her if they expect me to pay for the consultation just because he requested the blood tests, (the blood tests are also paid separately) I was told yes. I don't expect to see the dr for free, if he actually examines me and prescribes something for my problem, but for a referral to someone else, I would expect to NOT pay the CONSULTATION fee!!! Very disgusted!!
