Inefficient Service

<p>I set up a meeting with Cleo from Mediator Group for Tuesday, 24 August. I was asked to email my settlement agreement and a completed budget form from me and my estranged wife. This was sent to them early on Monday morning as requested. Additionally, I attached information regarding the minors’ visitation schedule, their total monthly expenses and a background information document regarding the current dispute.</p> <p>Upon arriving at their offices, we were met by two ‘mediators’. We had to sit and wait while it seemed as though they were running around to prepare for the meeting. After signing the mediation agreement, we discussed the first topic as requested by my estranged wife.</p> <p>The person who seemed to be the assistant mediator, asked my wife to explain her concern. Thereafter, the assistant mediator proceeded with dialogue which could best be described as old wives tales. Included in this dialogue were suggestions to conduct behavior contrary to the advice given to me by my personal qualified Psychologist and my wife''s guidance counselor. The comments made or solution suggested by this assistant mediator was contrary to current practice and contemporary studies on the matter. Additionally, this matter had already been resolved between my wife and I. However, the mediators proceeded to waste 30 minutes of the 1.5 hour session sharing personal stories that had no relevance to the theme under discussion. At his stage, I found them to be uninformed concerning these matters and extremely inefficient; to such an extent that I felt it clear that they were purposefully wasting time.</p> <p>After that theme was finally concluded the mediator, using a flip chart, started copying the budget forms from those we submitted onto paper. At the end of the 1.5 hour session, she was still busy merely copying information from one source to another. It took her this long, due to the fact that the assistant mediator kept interrupting with tales of friends or relatives which was completely irrelevant to the matter at hand regarding the finances.</p> <p>Additionally, my wife would interrupt asking questions concerning financial matters, and the assistant mediator consistently gave answers that was not in accordance with current legal practice. Again, the assistant mediator would digress into personal tales which had no relevance to the matter at hand.</p> <p>Finally, both mediators had absolutely no prior knowledge of our case. It was abundantly clear that only one of them simply glanced at the information sent to them, and that they were not at all prepared for the meeting. They repeatedly asked questions which had already been specifically addressed in my communication to them.</p> <p>In my opinion, The Mediator Group is a fly by night company that ****s people into 5 sessions of ‘mediation’ where they purposefully waste time and confuse matters. They do not prepare for meetings and is by far, the most inefficient company I have ever had to deal with. Their website does not have their company registration number or V.A.T. registration details and the receipt I got from them was a written one, with again, no company details at all. When I asked them if I could do an EFT, I was told that it is a “cash only” business. At present, I assume this is not a registered business and that they are not paying taxes. </p> <p>As such, I will be requesting a refund from the Mediator Group, as NO services were rendered.
