Media 24 Subscriptions delivery
Good morning
I need Hello Peter's help. I have been struggling with Media 24's delivery of the “Kuier" magazine in Bloemfontein since July 2024. My subscription number is 74953.
I have been a subscriber to Media 24 since 2017. At first it was the Kaboedel until it was changed by Media24. Media24 approached me November 2024 to renew my subscription. I subscribed to the e-Publications on 4 November 2024 at R119.00 per annum. Media24 forced me to subscribe to a magazine that I receive in e-format anyway - how ridiculous such an arrangement is. Now I do not even receive the magazine in hard copy, even though I pay for it. I told the lady that there is no delivery with us as there are no mailboxes at our complex. We stay in Caritas Lifestyle Village in Spitskop Small Holding in Bloemfontein. She assured me that they do delivery at my address. I asked her that they call me when they deliverer. I was told that they were not allowed to call persons so early in the day. I then decided to have the Kuier delivered to my mother, in George. There she received it promptly. After her death in June 2024, I asked for the Kuier to be delivered to my daughter's home in Langenhoven Park in Bloemfontein from July 2024. It was not done either. I had to call for it every time because it was not delivered by On the Dot. It was arranged for it to be placed in the mailbox. At the time it was delivered, after many calls, it was thrown onto the driveway.
If the records of my subscription to the Kuier magazine are checked by Media24, it will be realized how big my problem is. To date, I must call every time about the magazine I didn't receive. The magazine is to be delivered to the Security of Stirling Hospital just next door to Caritas. In my opinion, On the Dot is not interested in delivery here at all. I still have not received the Kuier magazine of January 30, 2025. My husband received a phone call on Saturday morning promising that the magazine would be delivered. The new magazine has yet to come out again and still I have not received it.
I have not received a single Kuier magazine this year at the time it was published. I have to call every time and wait two weeks. I received the January 16th issue last week. I have not received January 30's at all. Why do I have to pay? On Monday they deducted R103.10 from my account.
The Security at Stirling Hospital and the entrance at Caritas are next to each other. At one time, I asked for the magazine to be left at the security gate at Caritas' office, just before entering Caritas' gate. It was unsuccessful. Then I asked them to hand it over to Stirling Hospital Security. The hospital and complex are on the same premises. The security personnel are aware that the magazine must be delivered to them.
All my attempts to receive the magazine are ignored by Media24. Trying to connect with On the Dot is also impossible. Several numbers have been dialled and nowhere is the phone answered. Last week, my husband was told not to contact On the Dot itself, but to work through Media 24.
My husband discussed the problem with Chaloma. She would have taken it up with management — still no response. Someone called him and asked if he was a trader. When he answered no, the person said she would ask someone else to call him. No response either.
I am still waiting for Media 24 to come up with an answer on how they're going to solve this case! It is needless. They call today and say the magazine will be delivered tomorrow and then Media 24 thinks the problem has been solved. On Tuesday February 4th I sent an e-mail to Media 24 about my problem. Up to this moment nobody rep**** to my e-mail.
Are their subscribers worth so little to them that not even the manager of Media24 or On the Dot is interested in solving this problem? Nowhere are the persons in charge mentioned.
