Taking baby away & check done in offensive way

I am currently in the maternity ward. This is my second night. In the beginning, I mentioned I want my baby with me at all times. Yesterday at midnight, a nurse comes in and says she needs to weigh baby and doesn't bring baby back. I'm up waiting then I call and get baby back. Tonight the same thing happened instead two nurses tell me they take the baby to stay in the nursery. The one nurse says they assumed I wanted that. Now why assume and not ask? Why tell me you are going to weigh the baby and never bring her back. And then when I get the baby back and a nurse from the labour ward that's talking to me says she needs to check my baby's identification to see if I have the right baby. How insulting is that? I am very sure I know what babies look like. She tells me all babies look the same and its procedure. If it's procedure then why is it that she is the first to do this check. No other nurses have done it. This is absolutely ridiculous and offensive to me. I am very dissapointed by the service and communication. It's shocking. It has made me feel disrespected by the attitude and behavior of when I addressed my concerns.
