Poor service

My dad is admitted at Polokwane mediclinic, second floor, surgical unit and we went to visit him on Sunday, 11 June 2017. We found him sleeping and waited for him to wake up. We asked if the Doctor came to see him and he said he (Dr) came the previous night and found my dad sleeping. My dad asked us to check his file for the Dr's notes. We did and one nurse (African, light in complexion, dreadlocks) rudely told us how we can't see what's in it. We tried to explain that the man admitted is our dad and had asked us to check.

She was not interested in our explanation. What is this? Do we not have a right to see what's written about our parent, what is she hiding because we brought him to the hospital and we were checking it as per his request?

I found her behaviour and attitude disturbing. This can't be right.
