PEOPLE AT ADMISSION NOT KNOWING WHAT THEY ARE DOIN

My daughter was admitted for an emergency appendectomy. When booking her in after travelling 2 hours to the hospital, I purposefully asked the lady at admissions whether there is any co-payment or monies I would be responsible for that my medical aid would not pay. She rep**** no it is all covered. I did not know that the type of appendectomy my daughter had is not covered by my medical aid. I signed the consent form allowing the surgeon to do the procedure but that had nothing to do with the costs of the procedure. They asked my medical aid for authorisation but app**** for the wrong code and only two days after operation is done do I find out that my medical aid do not pay for this procedure. Why did they tell me it is covered when it is not and their attitude is disgusting when I queried them. They didn't care and said I had signed the document regarding the account shortfall so I am responsible. AFTER I PURPOSEFULLY ASKED WHETHER EVERTHING IS COVERED AND I WAS TOLD YES I SIGNED THE FORM BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS ALL IN ORDER. This was not my choice of hospital but my childs school took her there. If I didn't have medical aid they wouldn't have accepted me.
