Paralysed at Mediclinic
I walked into Midstream Mediclinic on the 19th March 2020, admitted and operated on. I was there on one other occasion and expected the same high quality of care this time around. In ICU on the 19th March 2020, the operation was highly successful. I had a paddle replacement done. My legs worked perfectly. On the 20th March 2020, the two nurses, an African female nurse and a male Indian nurse, not of SA origin wanted to move me bed to bed. I ASKED that they get other nurses to help them. The male nurse insisted they knew what wat they were doing. They moved me, but I felt I was being dragged and my side hit the bedside. Minutes later, severe crushing feeling started which went in for 3 hours. I begged them to call my neurosurgeon, they said he is busy, they called another doctor, and he treated me telephonically, then came in briefly later. % hours later they then decided to to actually get the neuro. I WAS PARALYSED, left to bleed out for 5 hours. It is over a year later and Midstream do not care one bit. My life was stripped away from me. I live in pain and struggle financially all the time. They have destroyed my self esteem and dreams.
I will never ever recommend or go there again.
