Paid parking at the hospital

I recently had to do trauma counselling at the hospital with an in-patient. Not living in the area I was shocked to discover that the hospital was charging visitors for parking. The Medi Clinic at Vergelegen does not do so. In my view this decision is highly questionable: it appears opportunistic and highly insensitive. Visitors mostly go to hospital because loved ones are ill or close to dying. It is seldom a happy stress free visit. Under these circumstances the last thing one wants is to be concerned about how long your visit is going to cost you or to ensure you have sufficient change.<br> Personally this is unacceptable to me and should I have reason to visit this hospital again I will park outside of the grounds. There is no acceptable rationale for this from my point of view.
