Paarl Medi-Clinic Service Disappointing
I was admitted to the hospital on 01/05/2024. Suppertime I received my supper (Chicken fillet with frozen potatoes) which was so watery. Thursday morning, I received my breakfast I ordered, a Croissant with cheese, fruit and yoghurt of which the yoghurt expired in March already, the croissant was cold and so hard, and I was unable to eat the croissant, the cheese was excessively stale I even took pictures of it and there was no fruit on the plate as well. My husband spoke to the Manager of the kitchen and explained his unhappiness regarding this disgusting experience. The Manager confirmed that frozen food has been served to HALAAL patient as the food I received was supposed to be chucked already. She even told my husband that Halaal food can be ordered from Bustas or Shamiela but this was never offered.
My operation was performed late Thursday afternoon, during the night I pressed the button looking for assistance from the night shift nurses and they ONLY responded after my third attempt. When I woke up in the middle of the night, I felt dizzy then I saw my own blood was running through the drip bag as the bag was empty and never changed. The nurses on duty cellphones were ringing multiple times while they were busy attending to me, the one nurse even called her husband quibbling about her gold wedding ring as one of the settings was not in place, shouting at him and asking if he still have the slip of the ring, clearly they are so UNPROFESSIONAL and INCONSIDERATE. Early Friday morning one of the nurses came to me as they wanted to measure my weight and height as this observation was never performed before my operation. I refused as my operation was already done but she insisted that the Doctor asked for it to be completed only to understand the clear unhappiness that was shared by the anesthetist and scrub nurse in the theatre as they discussed it with the male nurse (MAXIMILE) who took me to theatre.
