Mrs K Pillay

In an attempt to bring to your attention my disappointment at the service my mum received from the doctor at the Emergency/Trauma unit(Victoria Hospital) on the 17/09/2018: She went to the hospital as she was not well. It took the doctor that saw her at the emergency/trauma unit more than 2 hours to give permission for her to be admitted. Dr L Naidoo assessed her and then requested her to be admitted to High Care Unit.

All things being equal, she came to the hospital requiring assistance. The doctor that saw her did not act on her condition. Why was it necessary for another doctor to assess and recommend her to be admitted to High Care Unit. This was after two hours of being at the hospital. I felt that the needs of my mum as a patient were not taken into consideration. This is not right.

My experience with emergency/trauma unit has left me concerned about how this doctor assesses patients needs and their conditions. This experience has left me in doubt about coming back to Victoria Hospital in an emergency.
