I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my concerns and dissatisfaction with an incident that occurred during my stay at the Medi Clinic’s Maternity Ward, specifically on [***7], during the evening hours.

I was admitted to Bed M19 on the recommendation of my gynecologist due to a fall on my belly at 34 weeks and 4 days of pregnancy. I believe it’s crucial to highlight that my reason for being in the maternity ward is to receive medical care, rest, and ensure the safety of my unborn child. Sharing the ward with two other patients, I respect their needs for medical care and comfort, just as I do.

However, during the evening, after visiting hours had concluded, an incident transpired that severely disturbed my rest and peace. One of the patients’ husbands visited the ward and his behavior was not only disruptive but also destructive. His presence and activities kept me awake, causing significant distress.

What concerns me even more is that this individual was allowed into the maternity ward by the nurse on duty. I overheard her explaining to him the route to use in order to enter and exit the ward discreetly. This not only violated the visiting hours policy but also created an environment of discomfort and insecurity for me and, I assume, the other patients in the ward.

I understand that visiting hours are in place for a reason, to ensure the well-being and rest of patients who require medical attention. Allowing unauthorized and disruptive visitors into the ward compromises the safety and comfort of patients, and this incident should not have occurred.

I kindly request that the hospital and maternity ward unit management take the following actions:

1. Ensure strict adherence to visiting hours policies and restrict unauthorized access to the maternity ward, particularly during non-visiting hours. 2. Address the behavior of the nurse who allowed the unauthorized visitor, ensuring that staff are aware of and uphold hospital policies. 3. Enhance communication with patients and visitors regarding the importance of respecting visiting hours and the need for a quiet and peaceful environment within the maternity ward.

I believe these actions will help create a safer, more comfortable, and restful environment for all patients in the maternity ward.

I appreciate your attention to this matter and trust that you will take appropriate measures to prevent such incidents in the future. My primary concern is the well-being of both myself and the other patients during our stay at Medi Clinic’s Maternity Ward.
