Hospital Bills

I was laying in hospital after experiencing the most trauma experience in my life. After being discharged from hospital I receive bills over R15000. I phoned the hospital and they argued with me and said I was only there for one day and not a week. I then asked them to check the dates when I checked out but they still said I was only there for one day and all the bills should be paid before the 15th. Why would no one phone me back regarding this cause this is my money
