Horrible experience

If I could give them a 0 it would make me happier I gave sent a complaint to the complaint department but haven’t heard anything don’t know if they don’t the situation serious or not but I am one angry mommy. I took my 5 month old little boy to the ER last week Thursday (16 Aug) due to a very high fever of 39.2. They helped us and asked me to explain the whole story to them of why I brought him. We had a horrible night and when we woke up on Thursday I was contemplating to take him to school or not but I thought maybe he is irritable due to not really sleeping Wednesday night we went to school as I work for the school that he is attending I told the teacher he is not well she must keep an eye on him and bring him to me immediately if she is not happy by 10:00 she brought him to me and we waited for daddy to fetch us, we thought that he is maybe constipated so we just made a doctors appointment when I wanted to change his nappy he was shaking and I knew he had a high fever I took it and it was 39.2 so we rushed him to ER at Morningside Mediclinic. The doctor asked me a few questions and then said that he looks a bit pale but other than his fever that is a high his other things looks fine but we will do blood tests, tummy and Chest xray as she was not happy with his breathing. The tests came back and he had an elevated CRP level of 31 but that could be due to crying and so on. We were sent home with fever stuff, nose drops and deselex which is an antihistamine. Not feeling completely comfortable taking my child home and knowing there is something wrong we went home because we have to trust our doctors.

On Friday Netcare Waterfall admitted my son whose CRP level went up to over 300 and he nearly didn’t make it.

I am discussed with the fact that I was told that there is nothing wrong with my 5 month old son but he was actually very sick.

Will never return to this hospital again
