Double charged for their mistake

Constantiaberg Mediclinic ER messed up which resulted in a second visit to the ER a week later. At that visit, we were assured that since this was their mistake, we would not be charged. However, we have received a bill from them and although I have emailed them a few times explaining the situation, they have just ignored my emails and now I have been threatened with legal action.
