Constantiaberg Mediclinic ER thermometer doesn't even work

I brought my daughter in to ER on the evening of August 28 with a high temperature, 39.3 and meds and luke warm bath wasn't helping. She had muscle pains and said her neck was sore. I brought her into the triage room and went to go park my car. When I got back, the nurse had taken her temp and written it down as 36.7. I argued with the nurse that her thermometer was incorrect. I used my thermometer and showed her it was 39.3. I even took my temp which was normal, with the same thermometer, my thermometer. She still argued with me that hers was correct and it's the only thermometer they use and they use it all day, every day. I told them my thermometer was old, but that I would drive to Wynberg Pharmacy, buy a new thermometer and bring her back to hospital if it was 39.3. I did, and the the new thermometer also said 39.3. I took her back to ER and when they saw the new thermometer was also showing 39.3, they quickly took her into the back. She saw a doctor who gave her a panado and diagnosed her with tonsillitis. Doctor prescribed a course of antibiotics and released her when her temp went down a bit. Besides running around and buying a new thermometer, this little visit cost me R1700. I took her back to Wynberg Pharmacy and collected the script. The pharmacist was confused at the prescription and actually asked me if it was a young doctor that treated my child. A few days later, after she wasn't improving, I took my daughter to her usual GP, who was disgusted with what I told her of Constantiaberg and told me that the antibiotics prescribed were totally wrong and quickly prescribed a stronger dose as my daughter's eardrum was now about to burst and her tonsils were spewing pus. I am totally horrified with Constantiaberg Mediclinic and will never recommend them to anyone. Waste of money and their thermometer doesn't even work. To think.....how many children, babies, aged people have been told their temperature is fine, when it is definitely NOT FINE!
