Atrocious Casualties Department

Today I want to broadcast the atrocious treatment that my mother received at the Vergelegen Mediclinic in Somerset West! The ER failed to attend to her with the required urgency even though she was clearly the patient in the most pain in the ER and with the most urgent requirement for medical attention. She had fallen and badly injured her elbow and was near fainting with pain and yet they let her sit in a steel chair and wait for Triage along with a few other patients with ailments nowhere near as severe as hers. I am new to Somerset West so I am not fami**** with the other private hospitals. Inspite of the reception person drawing the attending doctor’s attention to my mothers severe pain, he insisted that she wait. After 20 minutes and only 3 other patients on the list before my mom, not one patient had been sent to Triage.Then when I asked whether there were other Private hospitals in the area I was misinformed that there were none. Luckily the patient sitting next to my mom suggested that I try Busamed Paardevlei which is 10 minutes away. I rushed my mom there and she was attended to with urgency and empathy. I later called the attendant doctor and staff and sent a letter of complaint to Vergelegen Medi-Clinic. If you have a medical emergency please avoid this hospital at all costs!
