After hours Mediclinic
<p>My wife is 29 weeks pregnant and we live in Vanderbijlpark. Her gynecologist is at Unitas in Pretoria. </p> <p>On Sunday morning around 10 AM she started feeling cramps. At 11:30 we decided to rather take her to our local Mediclinic. </p> <p>The staff at the emergency unit was very helpfull and took us to suster Fenny at the maternity ward. Suster Fenny was very helpfull and professional, she connected the baby monitor, took her blood pressure and communicated with the doctor on call. </p> <p>Doctor Ntjingila was on call and the suster told us that he wanted to transfer her to Unitas hospital. Since my wife was feeling better with no more cramps and all the tests showed that there was no concern we asked if we could just stay and keep monitoring her. </p> <p>After half an hour everything looked fine. But Doctor Ntjingila still have not visited us. Suster Fenny informed us that the doctor said we have to go to the Unitas emergency ward. She offered to take my wife by ambulance but we preferred to drive ourselves since she was feeling fine now. </p> <p> </p> <p>When we started driving to Pretoria my wife called Unitas' emergency unit and spoke to the female gynecologist in call. She was exceptionally helpfull and explained that with her current symptoms there is no need for us to drive through to Pretoria. </p> <p>Dr Ntjingila informed the Unitas emergency ward that there was a pregnant female patient at Emfuleni Mediclinic that he was not willing to examine or take responsibility for her. That was why he insisted that my wife be transferred. </p> <p>We went back home very relieved that we decided to call Unitas Hospital. </p> <p> </p> <p>After this experience I have very litle faith in Emfuleni Mediclinic and will remember Dr Ntjingila. </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
