UNPLEASANT! Last weekend my mother and myself were doing our usual weekly meat shopping at Meat World in Meadowdale Mall. We were about 3 meters into the door and my mother who is disabled and walks with crutches, slipped on the floor. She had quiet a hard fall so she went to sit in the car while I quickly paid. I then approached the manager in a nice way to ask how they do not have rubber mats or anything on the floors for disabled, old or young people. He explained to me that they spent 2 million on the floors and did not have money to change it. He also said that he has spoken to the higher up people because a lady in stiletto's had slipped on the floor, and elderly lady had cracked her hip and had to wait for ambulance and even that a child had slipped and cut his foot underneath a fridge. His attitude was that he was tired of talking about it as nothing gets done. I feel that Meat World has a responsibility towards its customers. At least put rubber mats on the side. A sign at the door letting people know the floor is slippery or at least a board sign on the floor saying the floor is being cleaned and may be slippery. We are extremely unhappy with the way this was handled, it definitely could have been avoided. And they could also take better measures to keep their customers safe in their shops.
