Off meat sold at Meat world, and customer still gets done in with replacement

On bl;ack Friday I bought Chicken braai packs from Meat World Valley View, Krugersdorp. It was "fresh" chicken pieces. I bought it on 27 November 2020 and the sell by date was 30 November 2020. I had it in the fridge as it was bulk packs and I need to repack before freezing. When I on the Monday, 30 November 2020 took the chicken out to repack, a revolting smell hit me the minute I opened up my fridge, the chicken was totally off no one could stand the smell, I phoned the store and was told to bring it back, they will replace it. I told the girl I spoke to that I am not happy as I have to take time off work to take it back and no one pays me back for my diesel. I feel it not fair that the stores just expect you to go through all the inconvenience when in all good faith you buy what is suppose to be fresh meat. But I took it back, the smell was so bad I had it in car's boot but I had to drive with the aircon on and all the windows open. The store manager / owner was called and he said sorry but directly afterwards told me that they sold 500 boxes of this chicken and I was the only one complaining about it, as if what? Was it my fault that they sold me "pap vrot" chicken. He then said he would replace the chicken for the amount that I paid for it, that was R220-60 I said to him that I wanted it at the same price per kg that I originally paid for, he took packs and assured me he would give it to me at same price have the chicken re-priced at the sale price. I left the store not very happy about the treatment I received. I came home took all the replacement packs calculated all the weight thereof and timed it by the price I was suppose to pay only to see that he has done me in, and actually only gave me R209-55 worth of chicken where I bought R220-60. When I phoned back first they tried making an idiot of me as if I don't know how to work it out, I refused to speak to the so called owner so I spoke to a young girl who works there. She promised to have chicken delivered to me at no cost, which I never received. This all happened at 30 November 2020. I will never buy anything from Meat World again and I will share this experience with every person who will listen. Where is consumer protection against this as these big stores just don't give a dam.
