Ngwenya River Estate, appalling Service from MDV

Ngwenya River Estate

MDV is in charge of HOA.

So, to cut a long story short, these folks will get you in your house, and you lose your voice once that happens.

There’s currently been a spate of house break-ins, and the community members signed a petition to have this board and directors hold an emergency general meeting, and they flat out refuse to meet the community.

A matter of safety, which is the estates primary selling point, and they refuse to be accountable to the very people contributing the kitty that runs the estate affairs.

Estate Manager instructed to not engage the community. Their responses to the community show that their primary objective is to simply sell and keep it moving.

Don’t expect to have a voice after you’ve signed that dotted line, if you have a break in, MAYBE they’ll post a guard for a few days, but there are no proactive measures or engagements to allay the frustrations of residents.

Dear Thabang  Thank you for your review. Please allow me to respond. The Ngwenya Home Owners Association NHOA, of which all registered owners are members, has got nothing to do with MDV Developments.  It is a separate entity all together. The land developer (not MDV) is also a member of the NHOA as the registered owner of all unsold erven and/or opportunities within the Estate.  Apart from a show unit, MDV Developments doesn’t own any property within the Estate, it's mandate is the marketing and construction of new houses within the Estate.
All matters relating to the NHOA including the appointment of Directors are governed by its Memorandum of Incorporation (MOI).

Regarding the so-called spate of break- inns you are referring to please contact the Estate Manager within the Estate who will gladly assist and discuss any security related issues with you as a member of the NHOA.  All Ngwenya Residents receive regular communication from the office of the Estate Manager either via the Glovent system or the monthly newsletters. Any resident is welcome to set up an appointment to discuss any Estate related matters not dwelt with in the communication from his office.

The security at Ngwenya is top class including state of the art boundary and access control.  Well organized and managed systems ensure controlled access to any visitors, contractors and builders making sure they are regulated and off site after hours.  We have been involved with the marketing and construction within the Estate for the past seven years and incidents of crime that we are aware of were very few and isolated and mainly related to the theft of Cell phones and laptops easily accessible in unlocked or unsecured homes.

Ngwenya River Estate is unfortunately not an island isolated apart from the rest of the Country and do ********* reside everywhere, also amongst us within Ngwenya. This said, providing a safe and secure environment within the Estate remains top priority both to the developer and its existing residents.  The Directors of the NHOA with the assistance of its appointed Estate Manager, staff and contractors takes this at heart and will leave no stone unturned to ensure the safety of its residents.
