Trying to Upsell to customers say no Regular not available

So my wife went to McDonald's Potchefstroom in South Africa now to order to regular meals. 1 quarter pounder regular with coke and 1 chicken foldover also Regular with cream soda.. She was told on the mic 🎤 as she was in the drive through..that "We don't have Regular available for now"...weird So the wife called me says babe they say there's no Regular ..coz I know the Upsell game..they offer u Medium or large mam...this is so they can upsell there meals....and make more profit...so i said babe ask her how many sizes of drinks she says 3...but no Regular..then all.of a sudden..she says there is Regular in the chicken fold over meal but not the quarter pounder...so next time when u try and Upsell please train your staff better...coz that's just cheating...saying no Regular available when clearly it was..coz we both know most your profits come from upsell.....we know your scripts..."Medium or Large Sir"......not cool.
