Self Service Redeeming deals went wrong and left us Hungry

This Morning me and My Colleague went to McDonald's to redeem our Deal of the Day which was Regular Chips and Two Cone Ice Creams and to our surprised Self Service machines couldn't redeem and we were instructed to go to the Till which didn't redeem also Manager was called and she said there is nothing they can do as the problem is with their network, And we forfeited our Deals like that.
