Misleading Promotion and Poor Service at McDonald’s Lephalale

Last night around 18:00, I visited McDonald’s Lephalale with my daughters after seeing the Buy 1 Get 1 Free Sweetie Pie Bliss promotion on the McDonald’s app. I showed the promotion to the cashier and explained that I wanted 3 ice creams, but because of the promotion, I would buy 2 and get 1 free—so I’d end up with 4 in total.

Unfortunately, the cashier seemed confused and told me I would get 6 ice creams. I explained again that I only wanted 3, and that the app offer would give me a 4th one free. She said "okay," but when I paid, I was billed for 3 ice creams. I then had to explain everything again at the second counter after waiting in the queue for about 10 minutes—only to be told there was no such promotion running. I find this extremely frustrating. If McDonald's is advertising this promotion on the app, it should be honored by staff who understand what is being offered. It felt like a complete waste of time and left a very sour taste in what was supposed to be a fun outing with my kids.

Please train your staff properly on current promotions and avoid misleading customers. This was a poor experience, and I hope McDonald’s takes responsibility.
