McDonald’s Verulam

I visited McDonald’s Verulam today and placed my order as usual. I was told that the only drinks they had were iced coffee and milkshakes (Which of course you have to pay much more depending on the size of your meal). I asked the lady to please assist me with giving me the meal with any of the normal drinks or even a bottle of water and I’ll accept it even if it means me not getting an actual drink. The manager and assistant both said no. How is McDonalds Verulam getting away with charging the customer extra on their meals just because McDonald’s doesn’t have the stock? Is it our problem as the consumer that they don’t have stock? Are they the ones being inconvenienced? Are they the ones having to pay extra? This is completely ridiculous and ********* that we as consumers should have to pay extra because the franchise couldn’t plan better in terms of stock
