Mcdonald's Store & Mcdonald's App, Disappointed and Deceived

I visited Mcdonald's Tokai in the Western Cape South Africa on many previous occasions but this time specifically for a deal on the Mcdonald's App. Before visiting the store I checked the deals were available and specifically drove to the store for the deal. Upon arrival, I mentioned that I would like to order an Oreo Mcflurry through using the Mcdonald's App (The App had an Oreo Mcflurry for R9.90). The person taking orders at the drive through machine then told me to proceed to the window. At the window where customers pay, I was told to redeem the Oreo Mcflurry from the App which I then did. After waiting for almost 15 minutes and showing my phone to multiple staff members, I was informed that the deal can't be redeemed at this price (R9.90) as the store computer system does not allow it.

I was extremely disappointed and insisted on an explanation from the store manager as I drove all the way specifically for the Oreo Mcflurry at R9.90. The teller was rude to me and so were the other staff. Eventually after making my way into the store and having an argument with the 'manager' who does not value a customer, I paid the R9.90 and received my Oreo Mcflurry.

My first complaint is about the Mcdonald's store as this is not the first time I had an issue with this store. - From wrong orders given to bad customer service and an inability of staff to value a customer, I very often regret my visit. Even this time, I received a product that was made haphazardly and not up to standard.

Secondly, my problem is with the Mcdonald's App. This is because the App is used to attract customers to Mcdonald's but it is not kept up to date with Mcdonald's stores. Staff at the stores often do not know how to take orders that want to be placed by using the App.

My complaint is not just about the R9.90 Oreo Mcflurry but more then that. It is about my time that was wasted driving to a store, only to regret it. It is very deceiving to have App deals which are not available.

Mcdonald's needs to appreciate their customers otherwise we will just go elsewhere.
