McDonalds Okovango turned our smiles upside down
In these trying times we all need to be a little more patient and understanding of each other. On Monday, 13th July I helped my friend out by taking her kid to school. We stopped at McDonald's to get the kid lunch and a much need coffee for her mom. We placed our order with smiles we paid at the next window...still smiling since we beat traffic with time to spare. Window number 3 which also served as the coffin we buried our good mood in...the lady asked how many sugars...we told her 4 for the 2 coffees...she then said there's no sugar? No sugar, like we opened the pantry and ran out of sugar. To save time we said 1 energade to replace the 2 coffees please...problem. she did not compute...called a supervisor, who grabbed the last shred of my patience by saying...pay extra...I said no, get the manager because lost our bad weather buffer and had to get to school. He came to the window with a condescending glare of note and finally understood that we are not to blame for them having no sugar, or that sweetener is not the same thing, and that we were not told this at the time we ordered 7 minutes earlier and that mathematics of cost is their problem not ours. He gave us the energade with a disapproving shake of his head and we finally headed off. My friend was so upset she almost threatened to go up to the window and remove her mask...excellent
