McDonalds Milnerton - I'm NOT loving it...
On Saturday 27/10/18 at 15:44, I purchased three items from McDonalds, Milnerton in Cape Town. The menu board had the ordered items (Frappes) priced at R22.50, R22.50 & R27.50 respectively. When I checked my receipt I was charged R26, R26 & R32.50 for these items. Upon asking, I was told by the first manager (Samantha) that the latter prices are as registered by the POS (till system) and that the prices on the menu board should actually be changed...that those prices on the menu board are incorrect. I told her that as the consumer I look at the menu board's prices and then buy (and would expect to pay) according to the prices that I see and also told Samantha the fact that McDonalds did not change the menu board's prices to make it consistent with the price registered on the till, is not my problem.
Samantha called the second senior manager (Maxwell) who was even more clueless and tried to spin me two stories of why the prices are different. He first said that based on the recipes for the respective items - even took out a sheet with the recipe quantities & ingredients on - but this still did not explain why the prices were different. He then also explained that there is no difference between the standard and tall frappes, that all the frappes are the same price... IT WAS JUST A LOAD OF BULL in his efforts to do heaven only knows what. I told Maxwell that in lieu of both managers not being able to / wanting to help me, that I would either contact McDonalds HQ or use this platform. He then waved me off and told me to do as I please. By the time I walked out of the store at 16:21, needless to say, the frappes had melted and watered down...Yuk! So much for wanting to try something new on the McDonalds menu...
So, how are you going to respond to this, McDonalds HQ?
