McDonald's lovin' MODERN DAY SLAVERY
Hi there. I am completely appalled at the working conditions our brothers and sisters are enduring at your Great North Road location,especially the drivers. The abuse they are subjected to has been going on for so long, that I can't contain it anymore and will need you to address immediately!
Here is a list of some of these ridiculous things management expects and makes them do
1. They were called into a meeting and told that each driver will have to buy their own Food Warmer Bag, as they are the ones using them and thus they're responsible. What nonsense is this? This is like my company telling me I must buy ink cartridges for my printer at work when it's finished
2. The drivers are expected to wash the cars themselves. This is disgusting because customers are having drivers who smell of sweat deliver food. What happened to hygiene?? Shouldn't you have this done at a Carwash??
3. Drivers are not supp**** with their entire uniform. They are made to buy their own items. Like the pants, shoes and tops. Drivers who are big, are told they must buy because McDonald's doesn't pay for tops in big sizes so they must pay out of their own pockets.
4. Drivers are expected to fix any tyre punctures they get with their own money. A driver was forced to do such
Why are you exploiting individuals who already don't earn alot of money, yet you continue to take money from them for things that you as the employer should be supplying them with??
This is completely UNACCEPTABLE!
And the way the shifts are done for the drivers is ridiculous. You have drivers knocking off at midnight then given a 7am shift the next day. When is this person expected to rest? Why aren't your shifts done is such a way that drivers are given more than enough time to rest? You have drivers who drive tired because of the bad planning that you do with your shifts, it's only a matter of time until an accident happens due to driver fatigue
Taking advantage of our brothers and sisters like this must end, it is not right. Please explain yourselves
