Manhandled by a staff member

I went to McDonald's Nelspruit yesterday.

There was a lady cleaning the floor and I missed the sign when coming in the door. As I passed to go use the restroom, the lady cleaning - loudly passed remarks (talking to the people at the tills) - she spoke in siswati, but her words were "you see black people, nje can't she read or see that I'm mopping the floor- If only she'd fall" they went on and I could hear them from the restroom.

As I went out, my intention was to find out if she couldn't have questioned me politely and I explain as well as apologize for not seeing the sign.

When I got out, I noticed the floor was almost dry now but she was still mopping or holding a broom close to where we are to exit. She manhandled me telling me to use another door, mind you- I was already by the original entry where I first came in when she did so. I also didn't know there was another door to exit by, hence I used the same door.

Before we could even talk further- she threatened to hit me. She picked up her broom, and was about to swing at me! I told her if she wanted to hit me, she should, wondering if she was treating me like this because "I am black" as she had said , I asked her.

That's where my boyfriend stepped in, and she said she'd hit me in front of him and loudly made remarks about my runny stockings in front of all other costumers. We were already outside and she opened the door and shouted at me, that's when my boyfriend decided to go back in and actually hear what her story was- I went in with him wanting to ask her aside, so as to talk about this calmly, but she went on shouting and wasn't willing to talk.

We then left and ended up not using their drive through to buy food as intended.

I was so hurt and embarrassed about this whole matter. If they may please revisit their store camera's to see and confirm my claim, it was round about 9:10pm, I was wearing a navy blue dress. I didn't get her name but camera's don't lie!

How could an employee treat their costumers as such, where was the manager who could've stepped in to sort this out???

I buy food there all the time and didn't deserve this treatment. Can someone please look into this. It happened yesterday 24/08/2018
