Made To Pay For Broken China

McDonalds ,Melville ,Gauteng ,South Africa Date ; 9th December 2018, Time: 13h00 I bought a Cappuccino and a Slice of Cake from the Mc Cafe and sat down...I was served in a ceramic cup and saucer. Once done when clearing and taking the tray back to the counter it all slipped and came crashing down...the mug and saucer were shattered into pieces. I apologized to the staff and they cleaned up for me. Whilst sitting outside catching fresh air, a sales assistant by the name of Refiloe /Refilwe came to tell me that the ‘Manager’ said she must come tell me that I must pay for the broken China. I have never heard of this before...is this McDonald’s standard policy ?
