MacDonald's Meyerton will make you sick!
Good day MacDonald’s Team,
I trust you are doing well and keeping safe.
I would like to raise a complaint and seek resolution to an incident that occurred on the 1st of June 2023 at one of your stores in Meyerton CBD (Restaurant #***).
Occurrences: As per duplicate invoice 1842 attached, a purchase was made for 3 Tall Mocha Frapp drinks just before 1pm on Friday the 1st of June 2023. The drinks were then in part consumed between 1 and 2 PM on Friday afternoon where it was noted that smaller crunchy pieces were being consumed. These were believed to undissolved sugar particles, where the consumption came to a point where it could not be consumed any further. Mr J Verwey had become nauseas, dizzy and ill where he returned to MacDonalds to seek resolution. The Drink consumed was then closer examined where it was found to contain small plastic particles, some smaller and so large that they would not fit through the straw provided. The drinks were examined by the store manager on duty MR Nicuolos Maboe could confirm that plastic particles were indeed inside of the drinks. The store quickly disposed of 2 of the drinks brought back. As evidence Mr Verwey kept one drink, refer to all images attached where the drink was syphoned through a Macdonalds cloth to reveal the plastics. Mr Verwey originally only requested that medication be covered by the store in remedy of the situation, but was later accused of placing the plastics in the cup. Where a compromised could not be reached in store. Mr Verwey then sought medical attention at his own cost to remedy him and his families health.
The client is very deterred by these accusations, as he is a trusted member of the community and owns multiple businesses in and around the Vaal area. These drinks has caused great displeasure and discomfort to him, his Wife & his sister in law that consumed them. While the Meyerton store could not care if this will be happening to any more customers in the future.
Could you kindly advise your preferred resolution to the issue at hand as Mr Verwey considering legal action going forward if the matter cannot be resolved. *4 email attempts later to *** and 2 weeks later, yet no reply from them.
Pathetic.
