Macdonald Southgate don't except torn money notes.

At 18H30 on the 5th September 2020 I was at Macdonald Southgate to buy food. When I pay my order with R200 note the cashier refused to take my R200 note stating that it is torn. She even called the manager that was very unhelpful. The R200 note was torn on top middle. The tear was about +/-10mm in length. I have pictures of the note if needed.

I then went to Nando's Southgate the R200 note was excepted. I even showed them that the money is torn, the was no problem at all. I did took pictures of my reciept.

Why is Macdonald having such a policy that they don't except torn money even if its +/-10mm.
