Items - sold out after placing an order!!!

I ordered 2 x Hot Chocolates and an Apple pie - Mcdonald's Craighall Johannesburg.

When I placed the order - the payment was deducted from my Credit Card.

The driver brings the balance of my order besides the items enlisted above, thankfully I always check my order! I asked the driver where are the Hot Chocolates and Apple pie? He responded saying that he had to drive back because he assumed they forgot to add this to the order.

The driver had no airtime on his phone and the branch did not have the decency to contact me instead of sending the driver all the way back to me for him to tell me that those items have been sold out and that they did not charge me???

This is the 3rd that this Branch messed up an order and it becomes a major inconvenience for the consumer.

I tried to contact Uber Eats to verify the payment details and to confirm if I have not been charged for those additional items especially seeing that it was not received to no avail... Can you imagine if they do this to 10 people a day!!!
