Given the run around

So i bought food at McDonald's in Daveyton on the 12th of Nov and when I paid on those new machines they have in shops the payment went through and the machine didn't populate a slip so I was told to pay at the till ohk I did and I asked so what's going to happen to the payment that went through the first time I was told by the manager not to worry the money will be reversed within 24hrs it's been almost a month I haven't received my money, I went there today and I was told I need to bring a bank statement and the card I paid with and I was asked I wasn't I told all of this, now my question is would I take time to go there empty handed knowing very well that I'm supposed to bring documents in order for them to reverse my money I'm honestly not happy with their service and the number on their till slips don't work
