Delivery drivers licences a major concern

Good afternoon,

I had a very near death experience yesterday afternoon 4 August 2019 between 12:15 and 12:30 on the corner of Atterbury road and Cliffendale road Faerie Glen when one of your drivers deliberately ignored a red robot and almost knocked me over. I was a pedestrian and the robot was green for me to cross over. I couldn’t believe his audacity to just “cruise” pass me knowingly I wouldn’t catch up with him. He turned into Atterbury Value Mart back to Mcdonalds, leaving me with outrage and shock at the same time. This is not the first time the drivers of McDonalds are driving so recklessly. Not sometimes but ever so often you would find them driving zig zag over the street, skipping robots/stop streets and even driving zig zag in front of taxis in Cliffendale road.

I called your customer service line and they suggested that I need to speak to the manager at Atterbury Value Mart. When asked for the manager and laid my complaint Chuli (the shift manager) said they have received complaints just late last week with regards to the same driver but may not reveal his name as it would be “unprofessional” of her to “name and shame” but that the branch do experience a lot of problems with this specific driver. I’m not sure how does professionalism come in to place when my life was at stake. When I mentioned that her name will also be in my complaint for refusing to give the drivers name to me she said now shes only the shift manager and that the store manager, Busi Madonsela would give me a call and took my nr. Well, as I expected the store manager didn’t call me back. My question to McDonalds is:

1. As a valued customer enjoying to have breakfast or lunch at Atterbury Value Mart on a regular basis is this the manner in how you thank your loyal customers? 2. You claim that all your drivers have valid drivers licences. If so how is it possible for this driver to drive in this manner, putting the lives of your customers and other drivers of the road at risk? 3. How is it that this driver has not being punished or taken off the road for his reckless driving? 4. If all customers are supposed to be treated equally, why did your store manager not bother to give me a call as promised by the shift manager? Are all customers equal, some just more equal than others?

I hope that my complaint will be looked at in a very serious matter as I anticipate your drivers from Atterbury Value Mart in Faerie Glen Pretoria East is really in the mood to cause severe harm for the company.
