********* roaming free at McDonalds

Good day

I would like to raise a serious concern with the security of your stores.

On Thursday evening myself and a friend went to the McDonalds on Beyers Naude in Randpark Ridge/Honeydew as we normally do a few times a week. We placed our order and due to the order taking longer than usual we took a seat at the tables in front of the tills. As we were sitting waiting for our order to be completed a man walked into the restaurant, grabbed my phone out of my hand, ran outside the door jumping into a car waiting for him and they drove off. The manager of the store approached us and apologized for what has happened and stated this is an ongoing problem and we are not the first people that this has happened too.

First of all I would like to request a copy of the video footage of the incident 26/08/2018 +-20:15.

Secondly I would like to find out from McDonalds why you have not taken any measures to protect your clients that have been supporting you if you are aware you have a security risk at your restaurants for example placing a security guard at the entrance to your store to stop these people from running in and out without any difficulty preying on people trying to enjoy a meal? You have been aware of the issue and you have done nothing to keep your patrons safe and resulting in me not only having to still pay for a R18,000 cellphone but losing all my photos etc. that is not replaceable. I would have though your restaurant would be a safe place to have a meal but seems that McDonald has a lax attitude when it comes to the safety of their clients and staff and one of these days this will not be a cellphone but someone’s life being lost.

I am very upset with the management as I use to support the store +- 3/4 times a week and now I will need to inform all my friends, family and people on my Facebook to not support your store due to my concern for their safety.

I really do feel that you could have stopped this incident from happening in the first place if you have just acted on the first incident but by doing nothing you have invited ********* in as they know you do not CARE!
