I ordered a Chicken Fold-over. I however did not want garlic mayo on the fold-over and requested that it must be substituted with normal mayo. When I paid for the item I was charged an additional R3.50 for the normal mayo. When I inquired with the manager about this, she informed me that they have been instructed to charge for additional items.
I however did not ask for an additional item, I asked for an substitute.
This means that I have to pay for the additional item and on top of that McDonald's keeps my helping of garlic mayo that I did not want. Wow, extra profits for doing absolutely nothing. I just wonder how many millions is made by McDonald's on an annual basis worldwide by this practice.
This is probably another example of big business that exploits the consumer. The R3.50 is not the issue here, it is just the principle of the matter.
My order of R73 order means nothing in the big scheme of things at McDonald's, but I will in future rather spend my R73 somewhere else.
