Acceptance of wrong address orders

I am utterly disappointed in how McDonald's and Mr D handled the matter about my order. I mistakenly ordered the Pretoria north McDonald's and my address is out of their jurisdiction. What puzzles me is that they accept the order with an address they know very well they do not deliver to. Mr D comes and collect the order and the driver also discovers on his way that he cannot deliver where I am. It just doesn't make sense to me at all how this system works. It looks like they wanna make money out of mistakes we make when they have information about my delivery address. Maybe my logic is all wrong but to me it says a person from Cape Town can place an order with Pretoria north McDonald's you will still accept knowing very well that you are not able to deliver there. Or maybe give a call to verify info received. This is really disappointing.
