3 hours wait after being informed 30-40 mins

I have ordered two burgers from Mc Donalds which is 5 minutes away from my location.. I waited Literally just over 3 hours for my food to arrive. An hour after I ordered I called to follow up twice and I was told it was on its way with the driver. This is really bad service as this was my first time using this service. I am furious and hungry at the same time as I have not eaten anything today. I want to know where the delay was and is this a regular service from mc donalds as I am told that it is not mc donald's problem, it is mine. I told them I will take the meal for free when I called on which mc donalds response was.. \this is not debonairs
