McDonald's Highveld Mall Drive-Thru

Services not rendered for, I want my refund!

Good day We went to dine in at Highveld mall McDonald, at 14:25 on the 12th of October 2025. When we arrived at the McDonald with my family I went straight to the cashier because I had cash & was advised to go use the self service device to order then come back to pay. I went to the cashier once done inwhich we ordered 4x regular BigMacs meal including ice cream amounting to a total of R319,60 gave the cashier R400 & my change was R80,40. I told the cashier that we would love to get our ice creams first while awaiting for our order & left my daughters to wait for ice cream then went to sit down together with my wife. To our surprise my daughters came back empty handed stating that they were told that the ice cream was wet therefore they can get it! We received our meal without Ice cream then informed the manager/ supervisor that we want a refund for ice cream as we want to start with it before eating our meal. Once we were done eating I personally went to the cashier to get my refund of R40 for the Ice cream & the response that I got was shocking, I was told that they should have given us wet Ice cream because we deserve such since I wanted my refund. I told the that employee that she is now being rude, she then said that I am not gonna get my money back because I used the self service portal meanwhile they told me to use while I had cash. I then left with my family without getting my refund, the service we got is terrible, I am so irate as the employees demeaned me in front of my kids & wife.
