Attorney using upper hand

I visited and consulted these MCB associates Inc, in 2018 for a legal matter. Upon my arrival I was introduced to Emma Mccabe who is an associate at the firm. I requested a fee on the consultation. She told me that the consultation fee would be R1500. Which I agreed to. A month later I received a statement of R3,500 which I requested an explanation for. I requested her that before she does any work, I must be consulted as I do not want any surprises. This was never done. I wrote her any email, asking her not to do any work for on my behalf. I received another invoice for R4,300. I asked for an explanation as I wanted to pay the amount responsible for not the work I do not know off. There was no response.
