Horrible service by McCarthy VW Menlyn
Purchased a 2019 VW Polo Vivo 1.4 trendline on the 15th of September 2020. When I got to the dealer Edward Prinsloo (Sales Executive ) assisted me. I advised him that the car has scratches on the car, and he advised that they would come and fetch the car the next day to sort out the scratches - which never happened. Also the next day when I had a look at the purchase documents I noted that there are many VAP and add on's (Over booked the vehicle) which wasn't explained to me, I complained and said that I did not agree to the VAP. Was referred to a third party to request the cancellation of all the VAP by Rosemary Nelson (manager), After weeks of trying to cancel the VAP the third party advised they have cancelled the VAP and paid some monies back to VW Menlyn. I had to called Rosemary and asked her to refund the money back to the finance house. After weeks they have eventually refunded the finance house on the VAP.
The permit expired called Edward again asking him about the disc, was given a run around. Eventually he answered and asked me to bring the car to the store ( I stay 67.8km away from the dealership) , but went to the dealer. On arrival he asked me to follow him we drove to a roadworthy center (the vehicle never went for roadworthy test before I got it. Edward left me there waited for hours for my car to eventually be tested. After weeks I followed up again advising I am driving around with an expired permit where is the disc he advised that I can come back to the dealer get the disc and spare key as initially they didn't give me a spare key. On arrival I got there got the disc and the wrong spare key. He advised he would get the spare key and post it to me which also never happened.
Last week I called Edward again requesting my spare key he again said I need to come to the dealership (67.8km away). I went Monday 22 February 2021 (5 months after purchase) Went there they have asked me to sit in the waiting area while they do coding for the spare key. I have sat there for over 4 hours waiting on my car, the dealership even got empty, all staff are leaving asked Edwards colleague to call him and asks what is happening as its getting late. Edward eventually came and said they were not able to do the coding will only be complete the next day. He spoke to his manager to get me a curtesy car which I assume they have agreed. Made me sign something on his tablet, after I signed he said the should something happen to the car the excess applicable is R40 000. Which is very unreasonable seeing I am the one being inconvenienced here.
When I got into the curtesy car I note there is no petrol (0km) driving to the petrol station was very stressful. Edward again said I can pour petrol , send him the receipt he will refund me which I did. Poured R200 and sent a picture of the receipt. He rep**** that he will refund me when we exchange cars. Tuesday he called said they are still not able to sort out the coding, they will work on it and by tomorrow (24th February 2021) at 9am he will bring my car and the R200 refund. Another guy came with my car and spare key around 1pm 24/02/21 and said I need to speak to Edward regarding my R200. Sent him a message and he said they will transfer it to me which also never happened . The attitude I am getting is that the deal went through now I need to run around for things that was suppose to be done way before I collected the vehicle.
