Mcafee is worse than being hacked - *******!

I bought a 1 year subscription in Dec 2021 and activated it on the 7th. On 09/01/22, I boot up my laptop only to be bombarded by notifications from mcafee that my subscription is expired and I have to pay to renew - 1 month into my annual sub. Tried all online avenues including social media, no one can give me an explanation. They give me a bogus number to call which cuts off. I then request a refund and receive a message that I will be called shortly. No call back in over a week. Called the corporate care line and get pushed from pillar to post. Eventually after being on hold for 45 mins, they end the call. Appalling service. DO NOT support them, this is a ****.
