McAfee Antivirus software came pre-loaded on my new HP Laptop. I paid a reasonable annual fee on my credit card and activated it. That was a very bad mistake, 11 Months later they automatically deducted R1,870.75 for next year's fee which only starts in a month's time. I can buy the software from Takealot for R265.00. They have deducted 7 times the normal price without any notification or authorisation from me! Their website has a section to cancel and get your money back, but you have to phone a non-existent number in South Africa. No emails or other method. Their official SA address is a vacant stand in Sandton. It is staggering that Hewlett-Packard would be a party to such dishonest business practices.
