Electrical non-compliance, non-existent customer care & threats!

MC Lighting did a lighting installation for us. Upon commencing the job we asked for the Certificate of Compliance. The owner, Chris, sold us a long story about how this is not a requirement and not to waste our money (This in spite of it being a legal requirement). At this stage we had paid a 50% deposit for the job. Upon completion of the job we had a certified electrician from a reputable electrical company come in to perform a compliance inspection the following morning and found a number of non-compliance issues with our new installation (they were aware that we would offer the company that had done the installation an opportunity to correct the installation so they had no vested interest in trying to make money out of us). Upon approaching Chris from MC Lighting about the compliance issues he started swearing at us over the phone and claiming that the certified electrician had no idea what he was talking about and continued to threaten us that if he was not paid immediately that he would come into our home to rip out "his stock" and we can then have the other company perform the installation. Chris continued to send threatening messages about being paid and took absolutely no accountability for the non compliance issues. In the end we were forced to pay a reputable company to fix the compliance issues and paid MC Lighting the balance of what was remaining. Be careful of MC Lighting, the owner has a terrible temper and his customer service is non-existent.
