It somehow had happened that my TV License has been handed over to MBD Attorneys for collections. After reviewing my statement that my fees are due for this year with a subscription fee of only R265.00. MBD has managed to add fees etc from R265 to a total of R795 in over 2 months. Within one week they have managed to increase fees from R505.00 to R700.00 with no calls made and only a few sms's. The problem here is the ******** practice. In Duplum states that no fees can exceed the initial capital of the handed over amount. Thus R265 was the capital. How did they manage to add fees exceeding R265? If only an sms was charged what fees are they charging per sms? There is an initial amount set to be charged by the Magistrates court that can be charged for an sms. And surely they are overcharging and not collecting according to set acts.
