Unknown Absa account

I received an sms from MBD that a Absa Your Bought Card was handed over to them. I phoned their office and they informed me that this account was in my name and was handed over on the 27th January 2016. I phoned Absa and they informed me that there is no accounts under my name and that I must ignore this sms. I had an Absa account more than 9 years ago and don't even bank with them anymore. Now after 8 years MBD is harassing me for an outstanding amount on a credit card that I am not even aware off.<br> <br> According to me if this was my card this is ******* to harass a person after 8 years and I am not even aware of this account. I have forwarded this complaint to the Consumer Watch as well and they informed me that debt that was not acknowledged within 3 years and no payments made on an account, this is Prescribed Debt.<br> <br> According to MBD this was an account that was opened in 1999. This is more than 3 years ago and now it seems that MBD is digging for money that is outstanding.
