Unjust Financial Blacklisting by MBD Inc – Despite Full Settlement

Complaint Body: I am writing this complaint out of deep frustration and disappointment with the conduct of MBD Inc, who are debt collectors acting on behalf of Woolworths. Despite fully settling my debt and being promised a paid-up letter, MBD Inc has failed to update my records and continues to keep me listed on their blacklist.

This issue has caused me significant emotional and financial distress. I am in the process of purchasing a home—an important and life-changing step—but this unjust blacklisting is blocking my progress and damaging my financial credibility. I did everything required of me, including settling the account in full. In return, I was assured by MBD Inc that the account would be marked as paid up and I would receive confirmation.

Months have passed, and despite multiple follow-ups, I have received no paid-up letter, nor has my status been updated with the relevant credit bureaus. Woolworths has washed their hands of the matter, stating they sold my account and can no longer assist. This passing of responsibility is unacceptable and shows a clear lack of consumer care and accountability.

At this point, I feel deeply let down and unheard. The manner in which this situation is being handled raises serious concerns—not only about inefficiency and negligence but also about fair and equal treatment. Frankly, I cannot help but feel that if I were white, this matter would have been swiftly resolved without the need for constant chasing and public complaints.
